Melamine Cyanurate Granular (Cas NO.:37640-57-6,MF C6H9N9O3 ) is a nitrogen contained flame retardant, Melamine Cyanurate Granular has the advantages of halogen-free, high efficiency, low toxicity, low smoke, high thermal stability and low heat loss at 300℃.
Melamine Cyanurate (MCA) particles are white crystalline particles formed by intermolecular hydrogen bonding between melamine and cyanuric acid, with a molecular formula of C₉H₁₂N₆O₆. It has the characteristics of halogen-free, low smoke, and low toxicity, with a decomposition temperature of over 350 ℃. When burned, it releases nitrogen and water vapor to dilute oxygen, and the generated carbon layer can block heat and combustible gases, achieving a dual effect of "gas-phase flame retardant condensed phase barrier". The product has a purity of ≥ 99% and a uniform particle size distribution (D50=5-10 μ m), which complies with the EU RoHS, REACH, and China GB/T 2408-2021 flame retardant standards. It is an ideal choice to replace traditional halogen flame retardants.

Application:
1. Engineering plastics field
-Nylon (PA6/PA66):
Adding 12-18% can achieve a V-0 flame retardant rating and improve the hydrolysis resistance of the product, making it suitable for automotive engine peripheral components (such as intake manifolds) and electronic connectors.
-Polyester (PBT/PET):
Adding 10-15% to PBT, combined with 3% nano montmorillonite, can achieve UL94 V-0 flame retardancy and increase the heat distortion temperature (HDT) to 220 ℃, making it suitable for home appliance controller casings.
2. Thermoplastic elastomers and rubber
-TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane):
Adding 8-12% can meet the flame retardant requirements of wire and cable sheaths, with an oxygen index of ≥ 30%, while maintaining material flexibility (elongation at break ≥ 500%).
-Silicone rubber:
Used in high-temperature flame retardant scenarios (such as oven sealing strips), adding 20-25% can withstand long-term aging at 200 ℃, and the flame retardant performance reaches GB/T 2408-2021 V-0 level.
3. Coatings and composite materials
-Expansion type fireproof coating:
As a gas source component, 15-20% is added to form a "P-N-C" system with ammonium polyphosphate (APP) and pentaerythritol (PER), which expands upon fire to form a dense carbon layer with a fire resistance limit of ≥ 2.5 hours.
-Wood plastic composites (WPC):
Adding 10-15% can increase the combustion performance to GB 8624-2012 B1 level, while improving weather resistance (color change Δ E ≤ 3 after 500 hours of UV aging), suitable for outdoor flooring and landscape products.
